Sastha

This deity is the largest Sastha (Lord Ayyappa) deity in India is in temple. It was proved in devaprashnam that it was largest deity of Lord Sastha and during temple construction the old deity was found as the supporting evidence for the proof. It is believed that for sanidhosham devotees can pray to Lord Sastha. The sastha deity is special here that wife of sastha calla Prabha is also beside the deity.

Mandalam

Mandala Puja is a ritual observed at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple . It is observed from the 1st day of the ‘Vrishchikam’ month till the twelfth day of the ‘Dhanu’ month according to the traditional Malayalam calendar. The day of Mandala Puja marks the end of the 41 days long austerity observed by the devotees of Lord Ayyappa which commences from the first day of the Malayalam month of ‘Vrishchikam.’
