Maha Shivarathri

Shivaratri in every lunar month on its 13th night/14th day, but once a year in late winter (February/March) and before the arrival of spring, marks Maha Shivaratri which means “the Great Night of Shiva”.

Navaratri

Navratri celebrates either Durga or Rama victory over an evil demon. It is celebrated in 9 days and in all these 9 days Parvathi devi will be decorated in 9 different forms and special poojas will be done on these days.

Skandha Shashtti

Skanda Shashti is observed on the sixth day of the bright fortnight of the month of October – November. This day is dedicated to the second son of Lord Shiva – Lord Subramanya, also known as Kartikeya, Kumaresa, Guha, Murugan, Shanmukha, and Velayudhan, who on this day, is believed to have annihilated the mythical demon Taraka.

Anjaneya Jayanthi

 Hanuman Jayanti is observed in the Chaitra lunar month as birthday where a number of spiritual discourses are held in a majority of Hindu temples. This festival is celebrated with immense devotion by Hindus of all hues and in particular by the devotees of Hanuman or Hanuman Bhakts.
